Bryan Buckingham, MD, is a board-certified colorectal surgeon with UM SJMG – Colon and Rectal Surgery. Dr. Buckingham has a special clinical interest in colorectal cancer and offers comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for a full range of colon and rectal conditions.

Before joining UM St. Joseph, Dr. Buckingham practiced with Colon and Rectal Surgical Specialists of New York. He completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and an internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. He earned his medical degree and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Dr. Buckingham is a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has contributed to medical research focused on improving surgical techniques, tissue repair and transplantation. His work has been published in respected medical journals and presented at national conferences, including the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress.
